Rocket Bar, Islington, London, 1989

Built as phase 1 of a project to convert the the Great Hall at the University of North London into a multifunctional theatre, sport, and meeting facility. The public bar faces Holloway Road creating an extension of the pavement and connecting the busy road to the theatre behind. Furniture, light fittings, stairs, metal doors and ventilation equipment were prototyped by the architects and manufactured in local workshops.
